Arsenal Talk

Time for a Change?

This summer has being another tedious one for arsenal fans everywhere, including me, even though we were better prepared for losses this season especially Van persie by the signing of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud but the late departure of Alex Song to F.C Barcelona, a new replacement has to be found. After watching  the game on Saturday against Sunderland, it was obvious that the team still needs to Gel together because of the new players in the squad.

But one thing i think i have understood this summer or i think Arsene Wenger is doing this summer is that he is trying to get rid of players who do not want to remain in the club and players who have their heads turned by other clubs Alex Song is a great example, he asked to leave the club and even though he had 3 years left on his contract his request was granted amid reports of suppose laziness and a lackadaisical attitude and lack of discipline, so i  think Arsene is trying to get rid of players who don’t have their minds set on the club and is also trying tot get players who will be present for the Long term and will undoubtedly put to bed the continuous exit of influential players every year. I hope this is what the Manager is thinking and i hope the Club can be settled again and also Succeed.

Van Persie PFA Winner?

The winner of the PFA is set to be announed on Sunday with our “Robin Van Persie” looks set to win it, Making him the third Dutch player to win it and the First Arsenal Player to win it since “Thierry Henry” did in the 2003/2004 season. There’s no doubt in what the Dutchman has acheived this season in the EPL 27 Goals and 10 assists in 34 League appearances have made him one of the most feared attackers in Europe this Season, he has also scored against 17 of the Possible 19 opposing teams in the League this Season, a feat he acheived with his goal against wolves, and also equalled a long standing record set by “Ian Wright” He has also scored important goals at various times in the course of the season and it seems inevitable he’ll be crowned the Player of the Year by his fellow colleagues. Even though he has not scored from open play in the last 6 games he still looks like the obvious choice. He obviously has some fierce Rivals in the Form of Wayne Rooney and David Silva. But one Can Argue that Silva’s Form has Obviously dropped in the second part of the season and even tho Wayne Rooney seems close, his rise to form has come at the end of the season..

“Honestly I expect him to be Player of the Season,” said Wenger”

RVP’s Impact for the Club this Season cannot be Overestimated and I and I’m sure fellow Gooners will hope he wins the Award because he deserves it.

And for the Mid-day Game tomorrow against Chelsea, I really think this is a MUST win game for us to Solidify our position in the Top 3 and also to send away and Hangover of the Game on Monday against Wigan. I really hope we win and also for RVP to score, He also deserves to be the highest goal scorer in the league..

Consistency Needed From Theo..

What a game tonight, to say its a disappointing result seems like an understatement. Many gooners (ME FOR SURE) were expecting the game and had high expectations. The weekend seemed incomplete with my Dear Arsenal not playing. The game started in typical Arsenal way, the passes were good and we seemed relaxed and calm it seemed like we were gonna have a good game. Then the counter attack happened and we were a goal down and before i could blink we were 2 nil down and i still belived we were gonna turn the game around and when we got a goal back it just looked like it was goin to be a matter of time before we turned the game around, but as majority of us saw it was never to be. Ths is where consistency has to come to play. In a Home Game and as A Top club we shouldnt be loosing games like these, no matter  how rich the vein of form Wigan could be on. We’re Arsenal and with the right attitude we should have won this game. We conceded sloppy goals when i thought we had dealt with our defensive “DEMONS” and we suffered for that cause. Another thing is the Under-Performance of some of our players. A few weren’t good today and i will just mention One player who was Overly Disappointing today:

I really think Theo Walcott’s was nearly inviscible as he had no effect on the game, he provided no attacking threat and neither did he help sagna cope with the obvious threats coming from the left side of Wigans attack, he seems like an easy target when we the team doesn’t play well even sometimes when we do he still plays badly the game against Manchester City is a good example of that. I really think his performances have been too incosistent throught his Arsenal career and with his experience he should be a better player now. One thing is that he still looks at himself as a YOUNG player at 23 years of age which i really think is really bad for a player who has amassed over 200 appearances for the club.Top players like Fabregas, Messi (Still Relatively young at 24 years of age) were never looked at as young players at that age and i’m quite sure they didnt look at themselves as YOUNG players even though they are still young, so it’s always a bad sign when i hear him say that and i hope that mentality doesn’t rub off on other young players at the club. Rumors also say he’s looking for a  £ 100,000 salary in his new contract, and based on his performances all through the season some would argue he should be on half of that. He definitely isn’t the kind of player you give that kind of money as wages cos he honestly Hasn’t Played for it, One good thing i hear is that the club has set an £80,000 limit for him which seems fair. But i really feel if he doesn’t settle for that (which i doubt he wouldn’t) his Future at the club should really be considered because the club have players who could do a very good job and some others that have potential to far exceed what Theo has done for the club. Theo always seems like an easy target but his performances  never fully drive critics away for long. I as a Fan of the Club will just hope he does better and gets more consistent.

I just hope the result of today will be a BIG Wake-Up call to the players before the match against ChelSHIT like the game against QPR was for us before the visit of Manchester City so our Top 3 target wont get “Jeopardized”. We as Fans of the Club need to smile about something at the end of the Season

Thumbs up to Rosicky and The Verminator for their Relentless effort today, and also a BIG Kudos to Wigan for grinding out such a win..

Thoughts From The Swansea Game

As I watched the game yesterday evening against Swansea, it looked like one of those games that looked similar to the Away game against Blackpool last season. It was a very open game at both ends, as soon as we scored our first goal i was at ease and thought the match could turn out to be a rout, but as the game progressed i began to have doubts because of the we failed to control the game and Swansea brought the game to us as they did at the emirates stadium earlier in the season and we failed to gain a foothold on the game and it went on like that till we gave away a silly penalty. Then we started to be turned inside out by the passing and entertaining style the welsh team is know for and it effectively put us out of our own game. A big problem i noticed about the game was that our midfield failed to string passes together and failed to tick and it reflected and it affected our defense because our midfielders continuously gave the ball away and found it very difficult to gain  a foothold on the game, then our defense was continuously tested by the pace of the two wide-men of Swansea and the pressure got too much for the defense to handle. The Absence of important players like Arteta and Gervinho clearly told on our performance. It would be really easy to point fingers to players who failed to perform to the standard of the club during the game.

Aaron Ramsey can be easily pin-pointed as a player whose inconsistent performance this season continued upon the praise from the Manger on Friday. He gave away the penalty for the first goal and also was pick-pocketed for the second goal and he also consistently gave the ball away to the opposition

Andrey Arshavin even though he set-up the first goal, his overall performance was also inconsistent as it has been for some time now

Theo Waclott redeemed himself late in the game by scoring the important equalizer but even that will not make me look away from questioning his overall performance in the game and inconsistent performance to say the least.

There were little positives to be taken from the game, but the introduction of Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain brought a bit of life into the game and i’ll expect the Manager to really consider both players for a starting berth in the next game against Manchester United.

As a Great Fan of the Club, i really hope for “FOCUS” from the players as the manager has also called for and also hope for the best this season.

The Problem Called Aaron Ramsey

I’ve watched all of Arsenal’s Games this season and I’ve noticed the performances of all our players this season and one thing I’ve noticed is the under-performance in 90% of our games this season from a particular player “Aaron Ramsey” . He’s a player who has been given limitless opportunities this season to prove himself as a regular, but with almost all his performances he’s looked like a player who just helps the team complete the 11 players needed to play a game, he looks totally unfit and Lethargic,a defensive liability and he plays like a player lacking confidence which confuses me because the team is playing so well. Although on some few occasions he’s produced a little bit of magic which we expect to see game to game from a player of his rumored potential (which i’m about to see). One thing i’m sure of this season is that with players like Diaby and Jack Wilshere’s Imminent return form injuries, they would have no problems getting into the starting line-up. I just hope his performances wont affect us at a critical time in the season.

UP GUNNERS
